Thrilling Indoor Basketball

In a thrilling game of indoor basketball in the Y.M.C.A. stadium the touring New Caledonia men's team continued its run of victories by narrowly defeating Poverty Bay.

Starting well, the home side notched up a slender lead which it held until after half-time when the score was 21-17.

However, in the latter half the tourists attacked with a new vigour, and although the home side continued to score, it was slowly overtaken to be beaten by 36 points to 32.
