Battle Of Britain 25th Anniversary

The Battle of Britain was remembered in Gisborne by about 160 ex-Air Force personnel and others who attended the 25th anniversary service at the Cenotaph, Esplanade.

Following the service, which was conducted by Captain R. H. Ford, of the Salvation Army, a wreath was laid by Mr E. Sweeney, president of the Gisborne Air Force Association.
