The Rev R. E. Marsden, great-great-grandson of the Rev Samuel Marsden, the first Christian missionary in New Zealand, recently conducted a thanksgiving service at St. Paul's Church, Wairoa. Gisborne runner Alan Parkinson, who was originally selected as first reserve for the New Zealand Harrier team to compete in Belgium, has now been named as a definite member of the team. He is pictured running a six mile race at the Childers Road Reserve, when he returned a time of 29min l8.6sec in reply to a request from the N.Z.A.A.A. for a "satisfactory" time.

Two sisters and a brother, who formerly lived in Aberdeen Road, were recently reunited for the first time for many years. They are, from left: Marion Walsh, Hastings, Ian McCallum, Te Puke, and Noeline Larson, Palmerston North.
