American Field Service Scholar, Sandra Whitaker, who spent seven months at the Gisborne Girls' High School in 1963, returned to Gisborne recently for a week-long visit. Sandra was accompanied by her family, and will be in the country for five months while her father, an associate professor of agricultural engineering at the University of Connecticut, attends Lincoln College, at Christchurch. Former Gisborne musician and president of the celebrated Waihirere Maori Club, Mr Bill Kerekere, was farewelled at a function in the War Memorial Hall prior to his departure for Wellington.
