Piping In The Haggis

At the Gisborne Burns Club's annual dinner in the Abercora Hall, the Scottish custom of piping in the haggis was a highlight of the evening.

Ceremoniously paraded around the hall to the strains of the bagpipes, the haggis was addressed by the president of the club, Mr W. B. Turbitt, and was then served to those present by members of the committee.

The guest speaker at the dinner, Mr C. Hume, of Scotland, who is in Gisborne. visiting his daughter, presented the club with a portrait of their patron, Robbie Burns.
