Outstanding Cactus Season

Presumably due to the mild weather conditions experienced in Gisborne during the spring and early summer, cactus plants in the city produced a bumper crop of beautiful blooms immediately prior to Christmas.

"Photo News" was swamped with reports from proud gardeners of their cactii flowering for the first time, and in abundance.

On this page we picture some of the many blooms.
