Tourist Survey

A party of 17 officers of the New Zealand Travel and Holiday Association conducted a week-long official survey of the Gisborne-Wairoa-East Coast district prior to Christmas.

Travelling by bus, the party made a survey of the area's tourist facilities and potential.

In Gisborne, the group visited the beach camps, Kaiti Hill, and the Cook Monument, before being extended an official welcome to the city at a public meeting in the Council Chambers.
