Gisborne Harriers Victorious

The Gisborne Harrier Club's annual open road race competitions resulted in a clean sweep for the local runners, who took first placings in the three sections of seniors, juniors, and colts.

Gisborne also won the teams' races in each event.

Visiting harriers from Whakatane, Dannevirke, and Waipukurau competed in the event, which started and finished at the club's rooms in Fitzherbert Street.

In the junior race, over a distance of 4.3 miles, Alan "Saunders won in convincing style with a record time of 21min 40sec.
