20-year-old John Pipi, of Ruatoria, who is now an electrical apprentice for the Auckland Power Board, has been selected to attend an Outward Bound course, sponsored by the Power Board. The first to achieve the honour, John was selected by a special committee. He was educated at the Gisborne Boys' High School, and has topped his class at the Auckland Technical Institute, and came first in the Auckland electrical examinations.
