Colombo Plan Students In Gisborne

A group of 44 Colombo Plan students, who are spending several months in Wellington at Victoria University for familiarisation with the English language, spent six delightful days in Gisborne recently.

Accommodated in private homes, the students were all school teachers, and came from Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, and Indonesia.

During their stay, they visited various high schools, local factories, and the Government Experimental Farm at Waerehga-o-kuri.

They were also entertained by several organisations. Such an occasion was the evening spent with the Royal Overseas League, in the Methodist Hall, where they were entertained by local items, and in return, gave colourful dances and songs dressed in national costumes.
