Whangara Ball Debutantes

Six debutantes made their bow to the Rev Mr Wharetini Rangi, O.B.E., C.F., of Whakatane, at the third Whangara Debutantes and Soldiers Bail, held in the Poho-o-Rawiri Hall on a recent Friday night.

Approximately 140 guests, including many ex-servicemen, danced to the music of the Checkers Orchestra, and were entertained by Pat Woodford's floor show.

Mr W. Toroa was master of ceremonies.

The debutantes are, from left: Misses Olive Ratapu, Lillian Papuni, Kuru Koura Te Kani, Ingrid Nea King, Florence Leach, and Mary Alice Knight.
