The 1st Gisborne Girls' Life Brigade Company (St. Andrew's Presbyterian), has a remarkable record in having six members of one family in its ranks...the daughters of Mr and Mrs J. Wilson, of 42 Awapuni Road. They are, from left: Shirley, Mary, Betty, Gloria, Suzanne, and Rosalie.


The two triumphant fishermen are Koro Roma and Tony Martin, who caught this eight-foot shark off the breakwater with heavy tackle and line after it had taken their gear for three nights in a row. The shark had seven gills, and is believed to be an uncommon species for New Zealand waters.


At the beginning of the present basketball season, the P.B. Association courts in Childers Road were given a clean-up by the players. In this picture, taken by Trudy Keelan, three Girls' High School players, Gail Kerr, Cecelia Baukham, and Georgina Babbington, remove weeds and growth.
