The funds of the now defunct Greater Gisborne Youth Action Committee were presented to the Donnelly Training Centre recently by the committee's treasurer, Miss Janice McDonald. She is pictured presenting Mr Ian Smith, president of the Gisborne Intellectually Handicapped Children Society, with a cheque for £54.

Gisborne barrister, Mr Dudley Kinder, of Stout Street, has been appointed Stipendiary Magistrate at Timaru. The second generation of his family to be a barrister, Mr Kinder has been practising in Gisborne for many years.

Gisborne members of the Legion of Frontiersmen recently presented Mr W. J. Sinton with a chiming clock in recognition of his 50 years' service to the unit. Pictured with Mr Sinton (centre) are, from left: Messrs Arthur Graham, Walter McGonigal, Joe Cousins, Roy Owen, and Percy Ingram.
