Indoor Basketball

The Gisborne men's and colts' indoor basketball teams both conceded defeat in the final games of the East Coast regional tournament held in the Y. M. C. A. stadium on a recent Saturday.

Playing impressively in their earlier games, the men's team comfortably eliminated Dannevirke and Hastings, but were beaten 71-39 in the final by a strong Napier side.

The colts' team easily disposed of Hastings by 46-11 in their first game, but were pipped at the post by Napier by 33-32 after a very close encounter.

The two victorious Napier teams will represent East Coast at the national championships later in the year.
