At the Gisborne Yacht Club's annual prize-giving, Mr Randle Clare (left), the club's commodore, was presented with a trophy for catching the biggest bill fish in the recent world contest held off Mayor Island, Bay of Plenty, by the club's delegate to the N. Z. Yachting Federation, Mr Murray Henderson, of Wellington. The fish was a 539lb black marlin.

A new trophy, the Percy Vos Cup, for the club's representative in the annual Tanner Cup series— the New Zealand "P" class championships—was presented to D. Stewart.

Happy boy on the bicycle is Bruce Crosby, ten-year-old son of Mr and Mrs G. Crosby, 101 Lytton Road, who won the bike, valued at £25, when he won the Jaycee Industries Fair "name the robot" competition. Bruce named the robot "Jayson".
