North Island Indoor Bowls

Gisborne was the venue for the North Island indoor bowling championships during the Queen's Birthday weekend.

Held over three days, in four halls, the championships attracted 843 players, who took part in a total of 1358 matches.

In the fours championships, two Gisborne teams, skipped by Don Scholium and Tinny Ashwell, reached the semi-finals, but were then eliminated. In the play-off for 3rd and 4th placings, Scholium's team won 11-2.

The final of this section was won by W. Petrie's Taranaki four, from a Bay of Plenty team skiped by F. Burke.
