The Mayor and Mayoress, Mr and Mrs H. H. Barker, feeding pigeons in Trafalgar Square with Mr and Mrs J. A. Booth, also of Gisborne. Mr and Mrs Barker are on a world tour, and at the time of writing were in England after having visited America and the World Fair at New York.

Miss Marion Evans, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. V. Evans, 171 Ormond Road, who has been awarded a field scholarship for a year's study in America, A prefect at the Girls' High School, she will leave for America in July.

Mr N. James (left), of Te Puke, C.O. of former Gisborne-based R.N.Z.A.F. 30 Squadron, pictured with Group Captain R. F. Watson at the squadron's reunion memorial service at Darton Field. Mr James has attended every reunion, and Group Captain Watson was representing the Air Force.
