The senior, intermediate, and junior champions of the nine bowling clubs in the Poverty Bay-East Coast bowling centre met each other on the Gisborne club's greens recently to decide who was to be champion of champions.

The finals of the tournament were played in poor weather the following weekend.

In the senior section, F. I. Faram, Te Karaka, claimed the title when he defeated G. W. Harris, United Services, 22-9. Intermediate player T. Bluck, Wairoa, defeated J. H. Rutherford, Gisborne, 23-14, and junior first year player, D. McKenzie, Kahutia, beat E. De Suza, Gisborne, 16-11.
