The Fastest Gun In Gisborne

A large band of cowpokes, ranging in age from two-and-a-half to 14 years, gathered at Home Appliances last Saturday morning to decide who was the fastest gun slinger in town.

Competing in groups of three, the young Stetson-hatted, gun-holstared cowpokes shot it out before their two judges, Mrs Joan Coates and Mr L. N. Hutchinson, until the eventual winner, nine-year-old Anthony Tupara, was declared.

Competitions for the most originally dressed cowboys and cowgirls in two classes were also held.
