Senior/Captain and Mrs E. Briggs, shown here with their family, arrived in Gisborne recently to take up their appointment as commandants of the Gisborne Salvation Army. Senior/Captain Briggs transfers here from the Christchurch Citadel, and before that was with a number of larger corps in the South Australian territory. During the was he was a welfare officer with the 2nd A.I. F. in the Middle East and New Guinea.
