Mr F. R. Ball, of Stout Street, who was recently elected chairman of the Poverty Bay Electric Power Board for the 31st year in succession. Mr Ball has held this post since the inception of the board in 1924.
When Mr Ball was elected in 1924, the board sold about one million units for the first year. Output is now nearing the forty million unit mark. Two major inland lines have been completed recently, and the operations of the board are likely to be extended to the East Coast shortly.
