The camp, which is one of the best appointed in the country, viewed from the grounds. The committee's plans for the future include an ornamental entrance from the Park Domain. Camp normally has complement of about 30 children, and is occupied for all but two months of the year. A well-balanced diet, group activities, free play, and supervised rest periods work wonders with the physical and mental growth of the children, who are drawn from all over the East Coast-Poverty Bay area on the recommendation of district nurses in conjunction with doctors and hospital boards. The children spend eight weeks in the camp before returning to their homes.
