Table Tennis
A most successful season was concluded by the Poverty Bay Table Tennis Association with its annual championships in the Y.M.C.A. hall recently.
Also above are Miss B. Peach, women's title holder, and B. Knox, who won the men's doubles with Brown.
Mr G. M. Chrisp, president of the Association, is shown presenting the Chrisp Cup for the men's senior championship to A. Brown, who retained it after a hard tussle with R. Jones, of Hastings
Among the finalists were (left to right) M. Mellelieu (mixed doubles winner, men's doubles runner-up), K. Forshaw (men's doubles r-u), Miss J. Willan (women's doubles w., women's singles r-u), Miss Waihi (women's doubles winner), and Mrs Lawrence (women's doubles r-u).
Miss Purcell (women's doubles r-u), Miss Jean Angus (mixed doubles winner,) Mrs Lowe (mixed doubles r-u), T. Wotley (men's B grade singles and doubles winner), B. Pegler (men's B grade doubles winner), and A. Emery (men's B grade singles r-u). In the senior grade A. Brown, besides winning the singles championship, was co-winner of the men's doubles, and runner-up in the mixed doubles.
