Music-Making in Gisborne

An orchestral week, embodying a week of orchestral training for instrumentalists in various stages, including beginners, was held at the Gisborne Intermediate School in the second week of the holidays under the auspices of the Gisborne Junior Music Seminar Committee.

The purpose of the week is to encourage active music-making by young players, who display great enthusiasm, and make good progress as a result. This end is largely the result of the teaching & the encouragement given to them by their conductor and chief tutor, Mr Len Schwabe, whose boundless enthusiasm in their fields is so vell-known in Gisborne.
