Golf Final

×

Followed by an interested crowd, Frank Gordon the Poverty Bay golf champion and one of the Dominion's up-and-coming young golfers, steps out (at right) after hitting a long shot from the third tee in the final of the P.B. Golf Club's championship against R. T. Field on August 28. He won the title one-up in a closely fought battle which he ended with a birdie at the 18th. His final shot was a downhill chip which stopped against the pin and dropped in when the pin swayed in the stiff breeze which blew throughout the match.

Field is seen sending down a long putt, and at right the two contestants are shown completing their drives.
Since the game was played, Gordon (who works for a mercantile firm) has been transferred to Hastings.
