On August 21, at Holy Trinity Church, Joan Margaret, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. J. Scott, Palmerston Road, to Noel William, son of Mrs M. Duncan, Makarori, and the late Mr. Duncan. Best man at left is Mr K. Piesse, and the chief bridesmaid is Miss Lorraine Scott, sister of the bride. At right is the groomsman, Mr P. Easton, and the bridesmaid, Miss Brenda Duncan, sister of the bridegroom.

On August 21, at Knox Church, Mangapapa, Josephine Good, daughter of Mr and Mrs L. Proudfoot, Oswald Street, to Francis Alfred James, youngest son of Mr and Mrs W. James, Ormond. The bridesmaid was Miss Anne Good, sister of the bride, and best man was Mr R. James, brother of the bridegroom. Here little Shirley James, sister of the the bridegroom, presents her new sister-in-law with a lucky horseshoe.
