Mobile House
The sight of this house cruising up Gladstone Road on a July morning Occasioned quite a deal of local interest. House came from Fire Brigade property in Palmerston Road, adjacent to the station, and was being moved to a section in Birrell Street. Han on roof had job of lifting telephone wires to allow house to pass.
Good progress is being made with Fire Brigade flats on the corner of Grey St. and Palmerston Road, shown at left of photograph opposite East Coast Commissioner's office.
