Wedding Bells

This happy group, ignoring the drizzle outside, were members of another July 31 wedding, that of Margaret Mary, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Merrey, Herbert Road, and Wilson Jones, third son of Mr and Mrs C. Whitley, Stout Street. At left are the best man and bridesmaid, Mr Eric Hughes (Valley Road) and Miss Doris May Whitley (sister of the bridegroom), who are pictured elsewhere in this issue in another connection. At right are the groomsman and second bridesmaid, Mr Norris Craig (Cobden Street) and Miss Rosemary Paine (Palmerston Road). The little flower girl is Denise Merrey, sister of the bride.

St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church was the scene of the wedding of Cecile Ann, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs C. H. Stevens, Gisborne, to Bryan Henry, son of Mr and Mrs R. N. Cornforth, Wairoa. In this group, the flower girls at left are Louise and Yvonne Helean, nieces of the bride. The bridesmaid is Miss June Hennah, and the best man is Mr G. Lindstrom, of Wairoa.

The wedding took place at Makaraka recently of Barbara, only daughter of Mr and Mrs D. R. Jones-Sexton, of Makaraka, to Edward Ian, elder son of Mr and Mrs E. C. Libline, Patutahi. At left are the groomsman and bridesmaid, Police Constable D. R. Jones-Sexton, the bride's brother, of Wellington, and Miss Sally Ginger.
