This is one of those very rare photographs which show five generations in one group.
It pictures Mrs M. A. Stevens, of 392 Ormond Road, aged 88. With her, left to right, are her daughter, Mrs E. Harrison, her granddaughter, Mrs E. A. Khull, her greatgrand-daughter, Mrs J. Glass, and her great - great-grandson, little Murray James Glass.
Mrs Stevens was born in Porangahau, Hawkes Bay. She and her husband ran the store and bakehouse at Patutahi. He died 60 years ago, and Mrs Stevens continued the business for 20 more years before coming to live in Gisborne. (Photo by Kandid Kamera Kraft.)
