Gisborne's Play-Centre
Gisborne's biggest family of toddlers is on parade above, outside the Y.M.C.A. They are the children who, three mornings a week, attend the newly-formed Nursery Play-Centre there. Started by the Y.M.C.A., the centre is now under control of the Y.M.C.A. Play-Centre Committee, and is staffed by a trained supervisor and two mothers in rotation. Our photographs show some of the children's activities.
It takes two to ride this hobby horse.
Three of the boys stop work for the camera.
The attractions of the "dough table" are obvious. Children who attend are in age group 2½ years to 5 years.
