Married

Mr and Mrs Alan Nisbet photographed in the Botanical Gardens after their wedding recently. The bride was formerly Miss Jean Allan, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Allan, Moana Road, Wainui Beach. Her husband is son of Mrs G. Nisbet, Mason's Avenue, Auckland.

Married recently at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church were Miss Eileen Patricia Foley, third daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Foley, Aberdeen Road, and Mr James Hyland, of Tikitiki, youngest son of Mrs M. Hyland, Vogel Street, and the late Mr Hyland. For the ceremony, the bride was attended by her sister, Miss Ellen Foley, and Miss Gaynor Heikell, while Mr Pat Hyland (North Auckland) attended his brother, assisted by Mr Ken McKinnon, of Ruatoria.

Wearing Maclean tartan of the Gisborne Highland Pipe Band, Richard Bennick Hudson, son of Mrs E. R. Hudson, Lytton Road, and the late E. R. Hudson, was married recently to Florence Edna (Paddy) Wakeling, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Wakeling, Aberdeen Road. As the couple came out of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, they were greeted by a parade of members of the band, and were piped by Pipe-Major R. Howe. The flower girl was little Pamela Francis, the bridesmaid Evelyn Garbett, cousin of the bride, and the best man J. Hudson, brother of the bridegroom.

Another recent wedding was that of Mabel Amelia Hughes, daughter of Mrs E. and the late Mr Hughes, Childers Road, to John Muir Robinson, youngest son of Mr and Mrs E. J. Robinson, Clifford Street. Attendants were Misses Mary Trafford (chief bridesmaid), Muriel Robinson, Alison Kemp, and little Elaine Hughes, sister of the bride: and Messrs Jim Robinson, the groom's brother (best man), Bill Murray, and Trevor Toye.
