Roving Camera

Incidents in a women's hockey game snapped by our roving camera in Childers Road Reserve. Game is played with skill and enthusiasm by at least a dozen teams, and a high standard is set.

Mr & Mrs J. Williamson, of 488 Gladstone Road, whose silver wedding anniversary was celebrated recently at a party given by their daughters, Mrs Ian Jackson and Miss Yvonne Williamson. They are seen standing behind the cake as the many friends and relatives who attended accorded them musical honours.

Miss Pamela Kemp, women's announcer at Station 2XG, was compere at a children's fashion parade in the new basketball pavilion last month.

The Stanley Road railway crossing, a "level crossing" in the true sense of that descriptive term, and accordingly a danger spot of concern to local authorities. The Railways Dept. has refused to erect warning signals, and the Borough Council has decided (as an alternative) to extend the bitumin sealing in Stanley Road as soon as possible to include the crossing, and to have stop signs painted on the bitumin.
