June Brides

Miss Patricia (Paddy) Hannah Lanigan, daughter of Mrs M. E. Lanigan, Clifford Street, became the bride of Mr Francis Oates Hughes, son of Mrs E. Hughes, Childers Road, at a recent ceremony at St. Mary's.

Paddy's attendants on the great day were her sister, Margaret, Merle Hickey and Jessica O'Sullivan. Her husband was attended by Keith Sharp (Wellington), M. Trafford (Hicks Bay) & J. Trafford (Cambridge).

The Army was well represented on the day in June when Elsie May, daughter of Mrs A. Dunn, Ormond Road, and the late E. D. Dunn, was married to 2/Lieut. Terry Paul, son of Mrs G. Samuel, Salisbury Road. Flanked by their eight attendants, the happy couple is seen below outside St. Mary's Church. From left: 2/Lieut. B. Duncan (Taupo), Miss Billy McCafferty, 2/Lieut. Among recent weddings was that of Miss Margot Tulzie Ireland, daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Ireland, of Napier, to Mr Norman William Trevor Dolman, of Gladstone Road, Gisborne. After the ceremony at Holy Trinity Church, Gisborne, the couple were photographed by Mr Lloyd Cornish with their attendants, Mr R. Jones (groomsman) and Miss Jeanette Murray, of Napier (bridesmaid), and at right, Mrs W. Madore, the bride's sister (matron of honour) and Mr P. Dolman, the groom's brother (best man).
