The Gisborne Hard of Hearing League's new rooms in Palmerston Road were opened recently. The completion of the building as a notable occasion, in that it constituted the first such enterprise in New Zealand, and was achieved entirely without outside resources.

A novel "hat trick" was secured by these children of Mr and Mrs J. Pickett, Stout Street. From left, Tony, who won the High School junior swimming championship; Lesley, who won the junior swimming and diving championships at St. Mary's School; and Mark, who won the senior swimming title at the Intermediate School.
