Beach Damage
Mute testimony to the anger of the sea was to be found along sea front at mouth of Turanganui River after autunm storms had brought floods and high seas.
Concrete apron at river mouth was damaged here and there by force of waves.
Southern end of concrete shelf also suffered. During storm "home" boat loading offshore had to put to sea for a day.
Local residents won harvest of winter wood from beach after flood.
But some logs were too big to cart away.
