Easter Weddings

Beautiful sunshine brightened the Easter wedding day of Miss Sylvie Cochrane, of Dunedin, who was married at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church to Mr Graham Wallen, son of Mr and Mrs F.E. Wallen, of Aberdeen Road. Here the happy couple are flanked at left by the best man, Mr Ron Holmburg, and the two little flower girls, Irene and Susan Crosby, nieces of the bride, and at right by the matron of honour, Mrs A.J. Ellis, of Wellington.

Another wedding at St. Andrews was that of Miss Joyce Cochrane, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W.N. Cochrane, Salisbury Road, who was married to Mr John Underwood, of Stout Street. Here their attendants, from left, are Mr Allan Birrell, Miss June Martin, Mr Noel Adcroft, and Miss Shirley Cochrane, all of Gisborne.

Auckland will be the future home of Miss Nellie Edge, daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Edge, of Tokomaru Bay, who was married at Holy Trinity Church to Mr Ronald Bell, son of Mr and Mrs F.N. Bell, Papatoetoe, Auckland. From left, the groomsman was Mr T. Edge Jr., the best man Mr J. Hobill, the chief bridesmaid Miss Marie Neverman, of Ngatapa, and the bridesmaid Miss Noeline Forbes.

Outside St. Mary's Church after the ceremony on Easter Monday are Miss Mary Doris Allan, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Allan, Albert Street, Gisborne, who was married to Mr Keith Barnett Lockett, elder son of Mr and Mrs Ian B. Lockett, Puninga Station, Wharerata. In front is little Janice Allan (niece of the bride), and the attendants on the bride's right are Miss Anne Barry, Mr Barry Allan, Miss Alison Cameron, and Mr Graham South.

Miss Loraine Tucker, third daughter of Mrs W. Torrie, Fox Street, Gisborne, was married at Holy Trinity Schurch to Mr John Fitzpatrick of Ngongotaha, Rotorua, only son of Mr and Mrs Bell, Auckland. At right are the maids, Misses Denise Tucker and Yvonne Richardson, at left the groom and best man, Messrs Ray Mills (Tauranga) and Colin Crosbie (Rotorua), and in front is the flower-girl, Janice Tucker, niece of the bride.

Confetti and good wishes abounded in Gisborne during Easter when a number of weddings were solemnised. Above, the Kirk-Moles wedding group passed through lane outside Holy Trinity Church formed by members of choir, of which the bride was a member.
