New Uniforms For Wakefield Band

Through the generosity of one of its keenest members, Mr A. F. McPherson, the Wakefield Citizens' Band is now resplendent in new uniforms, the first official uniform the band has had in its history. The band was first formed in 1860, but it struck a couple of lean periods when it had to go into recess. The last time this occurred was 17 years ago, but it was revived two years ago and now has a playing membership of 24. . A junior department is also thriving. The uniforms were handed over to the band during a concert held at Wakef ield.
