New Stoke Methodist Church Opened

To keep pace with the tremendous growth in Stoke, the Methodist Church decided to build a new church in the heart of the main shopping area. This building, in Neale Avenue, cost £21,000 to build and is a fine addition to £15,000 church hall completed earlier. The two buildings are joined by a covered walk, A big crowd filled the church to capacity for the official opening and dedication service. Dominating the interior is a full-length stained-glass window of The Good Shepherd (at left).
