Richmond's Shopping Spree

If you were in Richmond one week last month you wouldn't have had to go far to get bargains. There were sales everywhere. This, of course, was Richmond's annual sale week, when all the shops in the main business area marked down their merchandise to a tantalising level. To publicise the week the businessmen held two events, an ankle contest and a pram derby. Both were very successful.

The Talbot Street Girls (anonymous) hold a short wheel lead over the "Mail" team of Des Ogie and Alan McEwen, on the run home, but the "Mail" triumphed.

Harold Stephenson and Jim Smith touched on some Auckland events on their push-bomb

Barton Jones looks as if he has just about had it as he pushes Brian Harford to the finish line, and Geoff McLean and Paul Drogemuller bring up the rear.

Nearly there, Brian Millar and Peter Inwood vie with Bruce Sladen and John Puklowski for the also-ran positions.
