Some Apologies

Since the last issue in December there has been tremendous activity in Nelson;so much, in fact, that we find we are embarrassed for space in this first issue of 1961. We have endeavoured to cover all the many events - there were more than 90 in the carnival programme alone - but it was inevitable that some of the activities of the last two months have had to be left out of this issue. Hence the apologies, to those who informed us of various events which we were unable to attend; to a lot of brides and grooms and bridal parties, for being able to publish only bride and groom photographs in this issue, and to the organisations who worked so hard over the carnival period and whose labours we have, in some cases, been unable to cover as adequately as you and we would have wished.

This busy period has now passed, and we would once again ask your co-operation in the matter of informing us of any newsworthy functions we could attend.

Working bees are carrying on through the summer the job of erecting the Celtic Rugby Club's new club house and gymnasium behind Trafalgar Park. The work is now well-advanced but is unlikely to be completed in time for the coming season.
