Wealth of the Province on Display

(It will be appreciatedel)

Record entries, record crowds and two gloriously fine days contributed in no small measure to the undoubted success of the Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral Association's 66th show. Nelson is famed throughout New Zealand as a producer of fruits, vegetables, tobacco and hops, and adequate proof of the province's capabilities as a primary producer was there for all to see at the show.

As usual the centre of interest was the show ring where horses, large, medium and small, were paraded and jumped. One of the outstanding classes in the Horse sections was that for draughts. In this, the machine age, it was pleasing to note that the humble draught horse which had played such a big part in New Zealand's economy in earlier years, is still "in harness".

Motorama was one of the major attractions on the second day. It featured a fashion parade of wool garments by some lovely young ladies and a parade of all that's old and new in cars. Above are some of the models.
