Dawson-Hawthorn. At St. Mary's Church, Nelson, Valerie Margaret, second daughter of Mr and Mrs H. A. Hawthorn, 76 Tai Tai street, Nelson, to William Richmond, only son of Mr and Mrs A. O. Dawson, Wanganui. The attendants were S. Reid, Wanganui, Pauline Hawthorn, Nelson, sister of the bride, Jean Hawthorn, Nelson, sister of the bride, chief maid, and D. Wilson, Wanganui, nephew of the groom, best man. The couple's future home will be at Featherston.
This plan of the routes that could be (or could have been) followed by the rail link with Blenheim, was erected, with a plaque at what was to have been the site of the railway station. At the time of going to press, no further news of the fate of the railway had been heard.
