Wet Weather Brings Flooding
The exceptionally wet period towards the end of April and early May caused flooding in some parts of Nelson city and Richmond, Worst hit were residents in Murphy street where a culvert, unable to cope with the volume of storm water, burst on the property of Mr W. H. Horner and flooded his garden and those of residents lower down. A couple of days later, after more rain, the flooding was even worse.
