Some fishermen have all the luck. And Les Jellyman had some, especially when he landed this 19½1b snapper. Les is a keen fisherman and spends a lot of time after the elusive snapper. He made sure this one didn't get away.

Retiring after 51 years in the printing trade is John Walker, the founder of Enterprise Printing Ltd. He started the business in 1945 and later sold it to the late Mr J. H. McConchie. Mr and Mrs Walker are retiring in Nelson. Here Colin Hodgkinson, a letterpress machinist, congratulates Mr Walker on his retirement and makes a presentation.

Two women were taken to hospital, after this two-vehicle collision at Foxhill on New Year's Day, and three other people were injured and treated on the spot. The two women were Mrs G. Filer of Wai-iti and Mrs T. Smith of Foxhill. The other injured were Mr George Filer, Wai-iti, driver of the station wagon, and Mr Gary Berkett and his wife of Brightwater.
