Gold and Green Ball

Fifteen young ladies made their debut last month at the first ball to be held for three years by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The debutantes were presented to President and Sister F. W. Schwendiman of Salt Lake City, U.S.A., who are in New Zealand for three years for the South Sea Mission, and who travelled from Wellington for the occasion.

Poho-o-Rawiri Hall was decorated to suit the title of the ball, with massed floral arrangements, and coloured lights in tonings of gold and green, arranged by Mrs Terekia. The debutantes' waltz was danced to the music "Fascination", supplied by the Down Beats orchestra. The theme of the ball was "Some Enchanted Evening".
